Each vase features a vibrant cobalt blue ground decorated with polychrome enamel bird and flower motifs, including pheasants perched on branches among blooming peonies and stylised rockwork. The design is accented with ruyi-head and geometric borders at the neck and base in shades of yellow, green, and pink. The vases are finished with a flared rim and a white-glazed interior.
