Sell With Us

Free valuations, honest advice and a straightforward 18% commission.

Do you have an item, a collection or a whole house of contents you would like to sell? Our fortnightly Wednesday auctions and Sunday coin and bullion sales put your items in front of buyers in the room and online across the UK, and the process starts with a free, no-obligation valuation. Bring things in to 1 Station Road, Laughton Common, Dinnington, any weekday between 09:30 and 15:00, send us photographs, or fill in the form below and we will get back to you.

How selling works

  1. Free valuation. Pop in with your items, email or WhatsApp photographs to us, or book a home visit for larger collections. We will give you an honest auction estimate and suggest which sale suits your items best. More on valuations.
  2. Consign your items. If you decide to go ahead, we complete a short consignment form recording what you have entered, the commission rate and any reserves. Local collection can be arranged to suit you.
  3. Cataloguing and photography. We photograph and describe each lot and publish the catalogue online ahead of the sale so buyers have time to research and plan.
  4. The sale. Your lots are offered live in the saleroom and online at the same time, with absentee and telephone bids taken alongside. Sunday sales are online only.
  5. Payment. After the sale you receive a settlement statement showing each lot, its hammer price and the charges deducted. Payment is typically made within 15 to 21 working days of the sale.

What we accept

Our sales are general, so almost anything of interest to collectors and dealers is welcome: antique and vintage furniture, paintings and prints, ceramics and glass, hallmarked gold and silver, jewellery and watches, coins and banknotes, medals, badges and militaria, die-cast toys, model railways, comics, stamps, postcards, vinyl, sporting memorabilia, clocks, tools, engineering equipment and workshop machinery. If you are not sure whether something will sell, ask; we would rather tell you honestly that a piece is better donated than take it in and disappoint you.

Our charges

Seller’s commission
18% of the hammer price
Lotting fee
£2.00 per lot, sold or unsold
Payment to you
Typically within 15 to 21 working days of the sale
Traders
Please ask about trade rates, depending on volume

There are no hidden extras. As an example, a lot that sells for £200 hammer would return £200 less £36 commission and the £2.00 lotting fee, so £162 to you.

Reserves

A reserve is the minimum price you are willing to accept for a lot. If bidding does not reach it, the lot is unsold. Our auctioneers will advise on sensible reserves; setting them low, or not at all, almost always attracts more bidders and a better final price. Unsold lots can be re-offered in a later sale or collected.

Tell us about your items

Fill in the form below with a brief description of what you have. Photographs help enormously, so please attach them if you can. We aim to reply within 24 to 48 hours.
