A traditional Yorkshire saleroom with modern online bidding, in Dinnington, Sheffield.
Welcome to Clumber Auction House, an independent auction house in Dinnington, Sheffield, specialising in antiques, collectables, gold, silver, jewellery, vintage toys, comics, militaria, tools and industrial items, and much more besides. We hold fortnightly general auctions on Wednesdays, with additional online-only coin, gold and silver bullion auctions on Sundays, all run from our saleroom at 1 Station Road, Laughton Common.
Traditional in the saleroom, modern online
We pride ourselves on being a Traditional Old School Auction, where you can come along and enjoy the live experience of a real auction: the rostrum, the gavel, the buzz of the room. At the same time we have embraced modern technology and internet bidding, so you can watch and bid live from your sofa, leave an absentee bid, or book a telephone line. Whether you are a newcomer who has never set foot in a saleroom or a seasoned dealer, our goal is to make your experience an enjoyable one, and to be a place where you feel confident to buy or sell.
You are more than welcome to pop in, have a cuppa and view our upcoming lots. We are open Monday to Friday, 09:30 to 15:00, and viewing by appointment is always welcome.
What we sell
Our fortnightly general sales are deliberately varied. In a typical catalogue you will find Georgian to mid-century furniture, oil paintings and watercolours, Royal Doulton, Beswick and Moorcroft ceramics, hallmarked gold and silver, watches, coins and banknotes, medals, badges and other militaria, Dinky and Corgi die-cast, Hornby railways, comics, stamps, postcards, vinyl records, sporting memorabilia, clocks, tools and workshop equipment. Our Sunday auctions concentrate on coins, gold and silver bullion.
Our services
- Fortnightly auctions — Wednesday general sales, online and in the saleroom, plus Sunday coin and bullion sales online.
- Free valuations and advice — Walk in weekdays 09:30 to 15:00, send photos by email or WhatsApp, or book a home visit for larger collections. Find out more.
- House and estate clearances — Part or full clearances tailored to your needs, with saleable contents entered into auction. We can also purchase contents outright where that suits you better. House clearances and estate clearances.
- Container, storage unit and business premises clearances — A small team will clear the space so it is ready to let or sell again.
- Local collection — Collection of consigned items is tailored to your individual needs; please contact us to arrange it.
- Competitive commissions — Seller’s commission of 18% of the hammer price and a £2.00 lotting fee per lot. Traders, please ask about trade rates. Sell with us.

We adhere to the guidelines set out by the Chartered Trading Standards Institute (CTSI), the Antiques Trade Gazette (ATG), HMRC Anti-Money Laundering Regulations and the Sale of Goods Act 1979. Every sale is conducted under our published Conditions of Sale.
Intending purchasers are always responsible for satisfying themselves as to the condition of a lot before bidding. Clumber Auction House Ltd does not guarantee that there are no defects or imperfections other than those referred to in the lot description, which is why we encourage you to view in person or request a condition report before the sale.
