Lot 340: UK 2016-2021 Collection of 5 Pounds, 2 oz Silver, The Queen's Beasts
A collection of UK silver bullion coins from The Queen’s Beasts series, struck by The Royal Mint. The assembly consists of multiple two-ounce fine silver coins, each struck in 999.9 purity. The obverses bear the fifth definitive portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Jody Clark, accompanied by the inscription ELIZABETH II D G REG F D and the face value of 5 POUNDS. The reverse designs depict various heraldic animals including the Lion of England (2016), Griffin of Edward III (2017), Red Dragon of Wales (2017), Unicorn of Scotland (2018), Black Bull of Clarence (2018), Falcon of the Plantagenets (2019), Yale of Beaufort (2019), White Horse of Hanover (2020), White Lion of Mortimer (2020), and White Greyhound of Richmond (2021). The set is completed with a central coin featuring all ten beasts in a circular arrangement surrounding the royal effigy. The coins are presented in individual protective capsules within a black hinged display case featuring a printed interior lid and silver-toned hinges.
