Buyer's Premium:

A group of three silver threepence coins issued during the reign of Queen Victoria. The lot comprises one coin dated 1889 featuring the Jubilee Head portrait by Joseph Edgar Boehm (KM# 758) and two coins dated 1901 featuring the Veiled Head portrait by Thomas Brock (KM# 777). The obverse of the 1889 coin is inscribed VICTORIA DEI GRATIA BRITT: REGINA F: D:. The obverse of the 1901 coins is inscribed VICTORIA DEI GRA BRITT REGINA FID DEF IND IMP. The reverse design for all three specimens consists of a crowned numeral 3 within an oak leaf wreath, with the date split by the numeral. These coins are struck in sterling silver (.925 fineness).


Condition report:

The coins are in circulated condition, graded fine. There is significant flattening to the high points of the portraits and the reverse wreaths. Surface marks and heavy tarnish are present across all specimens. One 1901 coin exhibits heavy dark oxidation and encrustation on the obverse.
