Lot 320: A Sterling Silver Filigree Brooch with Stylised Leaf Motif
A sterling silver brooch of openwork filigree construction, designed with two overlapping stylised leaves or feathers. The brooch is composed of intricate wirework scrolls set within a solid framework. The bases of the leaves are joined by a scrolled, openwork band. The reverse is fitted with a horizontal pin stem and a roll-over safety clasp. Stamped on the reverse of a structural bar is the word STERLING. No maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the item.
Condition report:
The brooch exhibits heavy tarnish and patina across the silver surfaces, particularly within the recessed filigree sections (photo 2). The pin stem shows a slight curve from use but remains functional (photo 3). The fine wirework appears intact with no visible breaks or missing elements.
