Lot 34: A Trio of Glazed Ceramic Shire Horse Figurines

A set of three vintage glazed ceramic figurines depicting the Shire draft horse breed. The collection comprises two large horses and one smaller horse, all featuring characteristic feathered legs. One large horse is finished in a chestnut glaze with a contrasting cream-coloured mane and docked tail, depicted in a standing pose with white feathering on all four legs. The second large horse is finished in a dark bay glaze and is fitted with a black leatherette harness including a collar, bridle with star-motif blinkers, traces, and breeching, accented with gold-tone metal chains. The third, smaller horse is also finished in a dark bay glaze and fitted with a black leatherette harness, featuring silver-tone metal chains and brass-coloured hames. The figures appear to be unmarked with no manufacturer stamps or incised marks visible on the bodies. A small white rectangular adhesive label is attached to the front left leg of the smaller horse, printed with the characters 1215.
