Lot 48: A Five-Piece Fireside Companion Set
A traditional five-piece fireside companion set constructed from metal with a black painted finish. The set comprises a central stand with a circular base and a support rack, together with four hearth tools: a shovel, a brush, a pair of tongs, and a two-pronged fire fork. Each component is designed with a turned, baluster-style finial handle. The set is of solid cast metal construction. No maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are visible on any of the pieces.

Condition report:
The set shows signs of functional use and wear consistent with age. There is scattered white paint speckling and droplets across the circular base and tool handles. Minor areas of surface oxidation are present throughout. The brush bristles are frayed, thinning, and contain accumulated dust and debris. The tools and stand are currently secured together with white adhesive tape.
