Lot 28: A 10 AVDP Ounce .999 Fine Copper Art Bar, Roaring Lion
A 10 AVDP ounce .999 fine copper art bar, of rectangular form with a high-relief colourised design. The obverse depicts a roaring lion in shades of copper and ochre, with its mouth open to reveal a pink tongue and white teeth. The background features a starry sky in deep blue and purple tones with a silhouette of trees to the right. The lion is shown with paws gripping a rocky outcrop at the base of the bar. The reverse is decorated with a struck sunburst pattern radiating from the centre and is struck with the legends 10 AVDP OUNCES and .999 FINE COPPER in relief. No maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the item.

Condition report:
The art bar shows signs of environmental exposure and production imperfections. The obverse colourised surface exhibits areas of resin pooling and small air bubbles, particularly along the bottom edge where the paws meet the ledge and along the lower left vertical edge (photos 1 and 3). The copper reverse appears free from significant oxidation or toning. The clear protective acrylic case shows light surface scuffing and minor dust trapped within the seams (photo 1). The item is housed in a clear protective capsule.
