Lot 9: A Splouchy's .999 Silver 4 Gram Manchester United Bar
A Splouchy’s .999 silver commemorative bar, square in form. The obverse features the Manchester United Football Club crest centrally, depicting a ship above a shield containing a devil figure holding a trident, flanked by two footballs. The crest is positioned between two arched banners reading MANCHESTER and UNITED, set against a geometric etched background. The reverse is polished and bears the struck legends MUFC above 4 GRAMS and .999 SILVER. A circular mark is positioned to the lower centre featuring a stylised cartoon face wearing a hat, surrounded by the struck text FINE .999 SILVER SPLOUCHY’S. No maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the protective capsule.

Condition report:
The bar shows signs of environmental exposure to the obverse. The obverse surface displays significant dark toning and oxidation, particularly within the recessed areas of the engraving and across the background field (photo 1). The reverse surface remains bright and reflective with a mirror-like finish and no visible wear or scratches (photo 2). The item is housed in a square clear plastic protective capsule.
