Lot 16: Roche Mint 1986 Holiday Silver One Troy Ounce Round
A 1986 holiday-themed silver round, of circular form. The obverse is struck in high relief with a scene depicting a violinist, a flautist, and a singing child in Victorian-style attire. The flautist’s sleeve is struck with the legend ROCMINT. The upper edge is struck with the legend 1 TROY OZ .999 FINE SILVER, and the date 1986 is positioned in the lower right field. The reverse features a profile portrait of Santa Claus wearing spectacles, bordered by the legend SEASON’S GREETINGS in a stylised gothic font. The item features a reeded edge.

Condition report:
The round shows signs of environmental exposure and handling. The obverse exhibits significant dark toning and tarnish within the recessed fields (photo 1). The reverse shows similar high-contrast tarnish throughout the background field (photo 2). Both sides exhibit scattered micro-scratches and minor contact marks on the high points of the relief. No protective capsule or original packaging is supplied.
