Lot 193: UK 2024 King Charles III Silver Britannia 20 Pence Coin
A 2024 British 20 pence bullion coin, struck in .999 fine silver. The obverse depicts the standing figure of Britannia facing left, holding a trident and a shield decorated with the Union flag, set against a radial wave background. The outer border is inscribed with the legend BRITANNIA 2024 1/10 OZ 999 FINE SILVER and the designer name NATHAN is struck at the base of the design. The reverse features the bare-headed effigy of King Charles III facing left, designed by Martin Jennings. The legend reads CHARLES III • D • G • REX • F • D • 20 PENCE. The designer initials MJ are struck near the base of the neck. The coin is finished with a milled edge and bears a struck fineness mark of 999.

Condition report:
The coin shows signs of environmental exposure and handling. The obverse displays heavy dark toning and oxidation concentrated around the outer legend and within the recessed radial waves (photo 1). Several fine surface scratches and contact marks are visible across the central figure of Britannia. The reverse shows significant tarnish and dark toning across the background field and surrounding the lettering (photo 2). Multiple fine surface scratches and handling marks are visible on the portrait of the King. No protective capsule or original packaging is provided.
