Lot 14: A 1988 Imperial Jingdezhen Porcelain Collector Plate, Daiyu Burying Flowers Issue

A 1988 porcelain collector plate of circular form, decorated with a polychrome overglaze scene depicting the character Lin Daiyu in a garden landscape. The central decoration, titled DAIYU BURYING FLOWERS, features a female figure in traditional dress carrying a hoe over her shoulder. The plate is finished with a gilded rim. The reverse bears a red rectangular stamp with two dragons flanking the characters 景德镇名瓷 and the printed text © 1988 IMPERIAL JINGDEZHEN PORCELAIN. Further printed and handwritten Chinese characters identify the series as THE TWELVE BEAUTIES OF JINLING FROM DREAM OF THE RED CHAMBER (红楼梦中金陵十二钗) and the plate as SEVENTH ISSUE: DAIYU BURYING FLOWERS (第七集 黛玉葬花), alongside a serial number 九七九六 三 and the name of the CHINA NATIONAL ARTS & CRAFTS IMPORT & EXPORT CORPORATION (中国工艺品进出口公司). A printed label reads ARTISTIC OBJECT PRECIOUS METAL PIGMENTS MAY BE TOXIC DO NOT USE FOR EATING. The plate is housed in its original yellow fabric-lined presentation box and is accompanied by a paper certificate titled 鉴 定 证 书 及 出 口 许 可 (CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY AND EXPORT PERMIT) bearing the handwritten reference H 134-12171. No other maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the item.
