Lot 96: A 2002 U.S.A. Zippo Lighter, Welsh Flag Graphic and Packaging
A 2002 windproof lighter of rectangular form with a hinged lid and a high-polish finish. The front of the metal case is decorated with a printed graphic depicting the Welsh flag, featuring a red dragon on a white and green ground, with the word WALES printed below in red capital letters. The base is struck with a central ZIPPO logo in script, flanked by the letter K to the left and the digits 02 to the right. The text below reads BRADFORD, PA. MADE IN U.S.A. The internal mechanism features a sixteen-hole chimney and a textile wick. The lighter is housed in a black plastic display base with an adhesive label reading 250 WELSH FLAG and a barcode with the digits 0 41689 93742 3. Included with the lot is a retail receipt from THE SET PIECE, BARMOUTH, dated 01-05-05 for the amount of 23.00. No maker’s marks, signatures, or labels other than those described are visible on the item.
Condition report:
The lighter appears in mint, unfired condition. No visible scratches, scuffs, or wear are present on the polished metal surfaces. The internal chimney and wick show no evidence of ignition or carbon residue (photo 1). The printed graphic is fully intact with no fading or loss. The black plastic base is present and functional. The accompanying original paper receipt shows minor age-related yellowing but remains legible.
