Lot 50: A Collection of Six Vintage Rynbende Ceramic and Amber Acrylic Deer Figurines
This collection of six vintage deer figurines features a central ceramic liqueur decanter and five miniature fawns. The primary item is a glazed ceramic standing fawn produced by the Dutch distillery Rynbende. It is finished in a chestnut brown glaze with painted black eyes and nose, featuring a light blue textile ribbon tied in a bow around the neck. A quatrefoil-shaped paper label is affixed to the right flank, printed with the text Rynbende, Cherry Brandy, Produce of Holland, and 42 Proof. The collection also includes five miniature fawn figurines in various poses, including two standing and three reclining figures. These fawns are constructed from a translucent amber-coloured acrylic material and are decorated with hand-painted white spots and eye details consistent with mid-century decorative aesthetics.
Condition report:
The ceramic decanter exhibits fine surface crazing throughout the glaze and shows wear to the paper label, including lifting at the edges. The light blue textile ribbon is dusty and shows fraying at the ends. The five miniature fawns show varying degrees of wear and loss to the hand-painted white spots and facial details, most notably on the reclining figures. All items in the collection appear to be structurally sound without significant chips or cracks.
