Lot 140: Guinness St. Patrick's Day Promotional Collection, including Tie and Glassware
This lot comprises a collection of Guinness branded promotional merchandise. It includes a sealed brown glass beer bottle with a yellow crown cap and a matching black cylindrical presentation canister. Both the bottle and canister bear printed labels featuring a harp logo and text reading GENUINE QUALITY, ESTD 1759, GUINNESS, ORIGINAL, ST. JAMES’S GATE DUBLIN, and a signature reading ARTH GUINNESS. The lot includes a tulip-style glass featuring an etched harp logo and the word GUINNESS. A charcoal-coloured textile necktie is present, featuring diagonal red and gold stripes and a repeated pattern of small golden harps. The set is completed by a black fabric lanyard holding printed plastic cards; one card reads GUINNESS ST. PATRICK’S DAY, GUIDE TO THE CRAIC, and SATURDAY 17TH MARCH, while another reads PLEASE DRINK RESPONSIBLY and WWW.GUINNESS.COM. No other maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the items.
Condition report:
The collection appears in very good condition overall. The bottle remains sealed with its contents. The presentation canister shows minor surface scuffing and light scratches to the exterior (photo 1). The pint glass is clear with no visible chips or cracks. The necktie appears to be in crisp, unworn condition. The promotional cards attached to the lanyard show minor wear at the corners (photo 2).
