Lot 108: Zippo USA Operation Iraqi Freedom Windproof Lighter, in original packaging
A metal windproof lighter, featuring a rectangular form with a brushed finish. The body and lid are decorated with a colour-printed graphic depicting the United States flag above the serif text OPERATION in blue and IRAQI FREEDOM in red, flanked by two red stars. The lighter is held within a clear plastic blister pack with a black and white printed card backing. The front of the card features a flame icon with the text ZIPPO and a circular seal reading LIFETIME GUARANTEE. The reverse of the card displays marketing text, safety warnings, and the manufacturer details for the Zippo Manufacturing Company of Bradford, PA, including the mark MADE IN USA. A white adhesive barcode label is applied to the upper section reading ZIPPO, VARIOUS DESIGNS and PRICE: $ 22,95. A second white adhesive label reading WWW.NORDICARMY.COM is present at the base. No other maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the item.
Condition report:
The item appears in new old stock condition, remaining sealed in the original retail blister packaging. The metal lighter shows no visible faults through the clear plastic (photos 1 and 3). The plastic packaging displays minor shelf wear and light surface scuffing. There is some adhesive residue and slight lifting to the retail labels on the reverse of the card (photo 2).
