Lot 143: A 2007 John Smith's Grand National Metal Tankard, with presentation box

A commemorative metal tankard issued in 2007 to celebrate the Grand National horse race. The vessel is of traditional straight-sided form with a flared pedestal-style base and a polished exterior surface. It features a C-shaped handle attached with decorative knops at the upper and lower points. The side of the tankard is centrally etched with a circular logo comprising a top banner reading JOHN SMITH’S above the numbers 20 and 07, which flank a central horseshoe motif. A lower banner contains the legend GRAND NATIONAL. The tankard is accompanied by its original green cardboard presentation box, which is printed with a full-colour version of the same logo, including the additional inscription ESTD 1758 within the red horseshoe. No maker’s marks, hallmarks, or fineness stamps are visible on the metal surface.
