This lot comprises an accumulation of United Kingdom philatelic material, including commemorative first day covers, presentation cards, and loose stamps. The items are housed in a cardboard box and several glassine envelopes. Visible first day covers feature circular date stamp cancellations reading SHEFFIELD, with dates including 10 JAN 1990, 11 SEP 1990, and 20 AUG 1991. Presentation cards are present for the LIVERPOOL AND MANCHESTER RAILWAY 1830 and ST KILDA SCOTLAND series. Multiple stamps are contained within glassine envelopes, including a block of six red 8p Machin definitive stamps and orange POSTAGE DUE stamps inscribed HALFPENNY. Denominations visible across the collection include 1/2p, 1d, 3d, 4d, 8p, 10p, 14p, 15p, 20p, 22p, 25p, 31p, 33p, 37p, and 39p. Commemorative subjects include dinosaurs, medals, and Christmas artwork inscribed SOPHIE SHARP, AGE 8. No maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the philatelic items.


Condition report:

The collection exhibits signs of handling and varying storage conditions. The first day covers and presentation cards appear generally well-preserved with clear cancellations (photo 5) and minor corner wear (photo 4). Loose stamps and blocks within glassine envelopes are primarily in mint or lightly used condition (photo 1). The glassine envelopes show some creasing and age-related toning (photo 1). The cardboard storage box exhibits significant shelf wear, surface scuffing, and structural damage (photo 3). The items are supplied in a cardboard box and various glassine envelopes.
