Lot 1: A USA Zippo Statue of Liberty Lighter with Plastic Display Stand
A Zippo windproof lighter of rectangular form, featuring a metal casing with a brushed finish and an embossed relief design to the front. The relief depicts the crowned head of the Statue of Liberty set against stars and radial lines within a circular border. Legible embossed lettering arches around the central image, reading STATUE OF LIBERTY at the top and NEW YORK, NY U. S. A. at the base. The lighter is housed in a black plastic display stand featuring a header with raised gold-tone lettering reading ZIPPO U.S.A. LIGHTER. No hallmarks or metal fineness marks are visible. The bottom manufacturing stamp is obscured by the stand.
Condition report:
The lighter shows signs of light handling and storage. The metal casing exhibits faint surface scratches and minor scuffs, notably to the lid and lower corners. Faint tarnish and debris are present within the recessed edges of the lid joint and the embossed lettering. The plastic stand shows light surface dust and minor wear to the edges. The original display stand is included.
